Most elementary school students like physical activities.
Even when they come to the English classroom, they always talk about P.E. so we wanted to make English class like P.E.
These games would make students feel interested and learn more efficiently.

-Students can be tired after doing these games so it should be the final activity.

-It will be noisy if we don’t explain about the game rules well.

-There should be a big room for students to move round.

- All students can feel excited about doing these activities.

- Students can learn key-expression while enjoying the class.

<Extensions>

- We can change the length of sentences for students who have a higher level.

Practical methods of teaching reading

  Teaching English reading, which occupies most of english class, is the most important part in high school English but it is not easy to make reading fun for students. There are tons of interesting pre and after-reading teaching methods and activities, but not while-reading. How can we teach reading text not to be boring? How about translation? Line by line? While reading was the common and main interest of 2020 TTP high school teachers. We shared lots of experiences and ideas together to find more effective and better ways to teach reading. We haven’t found the exact answer to this very difficult question. However, I’ve got more useful tactics and would like to share them.

• Preparing a 1 minute background presentation, students automatically read the text before classes and get background knowledge so that they easily engage in the reading class.
• Jigsaw activity offers experience of being a teacher for students.
• Students study complex sentences and topics in advance using worksheets.
• Translation in pairs makes students participate in the translation and prevents a free rider.

: Good for checking reading comprehension

: Make groups of 4 students

: Cut each part (<A>, <B>, <C>, and <D>) and distribute them to each student

: Find the answers for the blank

: If students gather the letter in a triangle in order(From the first triangle in <A> to the last triangle in <D>), students can find a new sentence.

Speaking 1-Thinking Students are given a specific situation of quarantine. They are encouraged to decide 3 items and reasons. Speaking 2-pair work Students are divided into pairs in Zoom breakout rooms. Speaking 3-whole class Students are gathered in the whole Zoom session. Students are required to give a short presentation of what their partners’ best 3 items and reasons. -Would you share your partner’s items and reasons with classmates? Wrap up We review what we’ve done in today’s class. -You were able to decide and orally share the decisions.
