Applying drama episode on the lesson

Source of Inspiration/Curiosity (why?)
(Which TTP course or external experience is this based on?)

I’ve always thought that when we learn languages, it is very important we understand cultural aspect as some background knowledge and it can be helpful learners have motivation or realizing need and goal of the learning. Therefore, I want to get the way how English teacher apply some media as sources of teaching for a real English. That’s why I tried this and want to make a choice for this workshop.
Language Skills Targeted:

Key expression ex) (천재함) Lesson 8 5th G ‘How was your vacation?’ (past tense)
Some specific words related to Christmas in the drama episode
Learning Objective
- Watching the use of language in real life
- Learning & Practicing key expressions
- Understanding other cultures
Materials/Tools Needed

Drama episode that should be related to the lesson including key expressions or show cultural points with some special season. (Christmas, Halloween...)
Challenges, Benefits, & Extensions
- Students be inspired about learning languages when they watch the real life in the
 drama episode.
- By watching the drama episode students can get a chance having indirect experiences
 and understand about other culture
  • - Many students can feel more interested with the drama episode when they study
Discussion Questions

Using media(drama) for lessons has some weak points.
First, teachers have to find proper episode related to each lesson and the drama episode have to include key expressions about the lesson’s objective.
Second, it can be not efficient because it needs much time for preparing the lesson.

Therefore I want to discuss together, how we can use the media more effectively and regularly.
