Movie Trailer English


1. Language Skills: listening/speaking
2. Learning Objective:  (What will learners know or be able to do after your lesson?)
      Students will learn some new words from a movie trailer.
      Students will listen to the movie trailer.
      Students will learn some authentic expressions from the trailer.
3. Materials/Tools :PPT, wall paper for word race, hand-outs,
4. Detailed Procedure
    1) Warm-up (3min)
        -T shows students pictures.
        -Ss guesses the movie titles just looking at them.
    2) Studying new vocabularies
       - T gives Ss Quizzlet address and Ss types the address in their phones and study             the new words on their own.
    3) Word Race
      -T puts the word race paper, one for each team, on the wall
      -Ss from each team runs to the wall and fill in the blanks for 20 seconds.
      -In twenty seconds, the next player from each team follows the suit.
    4) Watching a trailer and answering quiz
       -T plays movie trailers and Ss watch it.
       -T gives Ss questions through Plickers.
    5) Sentence strips and hidden message
      -After watching the trailer one more time, Ss put the first seven strips in order.
      -With the combinations from the sentence order, Ss deciphers the meaning of the         combinations
    6) Dictation
      -While watching the movie trailer, Ss fill in the blanks of the movie trailer script.
    7) Baskin Robbins 31 game
       -Students read one or two or three sentences at a time in their team.
       -The student who read the last sentence which is 31st sentence  is the loser. 
       -You can read up to three sentences at a time. You take turns in reading                      sentences. The students who reads the 31st sentence is the loser.
